I am a journalist in the time-honoured public interest tradition. With the advent of neo-liberal economics, the media is having to struggle with corporate pressures and PR spin more than ever before. The enfeebling of India’s institutions by corrosive capital makes things worse. It is evident in the way television channels and newspapers are used cleverly to manufacture consent for middle class consumption. My interests are centred around equity, ethics, sustainability and the environment.
